Barclay Briggs is thrilled to announce that we have been admitted as a Member of the British Institute of Interior Design and a BIID Registered Interior Designer®.
The British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) is the only professional institute for interior designers in the UK.
As a small business, its fantastic to be able to show our clients we are backed by a professional institute.
The BIID have a strict set of criteria, so we are pleased to carry this kite-mark to demonstrate our high standards and professional standing to both our current and future clients.
To become a Registered Interior Designer® we undertook an in depth Professional Review, including an interview stage - to ensure we have the requisite expertise, experience and up to date industry knowledge. We also underwent checks to ensure we hold the pre-requisite BA(Hons) Interior Design/ Architecture qualifications and professional insurance.
The professional review covered a variety of questions, concentrating on real life experience and understanding of current regulations, and included questions on:
- Professional Judgement
- Legislation & Regulations
- Product & Technical Knowledge
- Plus, Design Development & Project Teamwork, among others.
As members, we commit to the BIID Code of Conduct and Continued Professional Development.
We are excited to be part of the Interior Design community created by the BIID.
